Two weekends in Singapore

21-24 & 29-31 March

Doing my part for Singapore's tourism and playing tour guide to this aussie chap i met on the plane one year ago on my way to Vietnam for work.

Funny how cab driver uncle sent him straight to Geylang when he asked for accommodation recommendations upon arrival.

Anyhow here's two weekends of local sights and food around Singapore; in between he braved Hong Kong on his own while i headed up to Yangon for work.

Suggested meeting up at Raffles Hotel as i was pretty sure every cabby knew this famous singapore landmark. We went straight for hainanese chicken rice dinner at Yet Con on Purvis Street, then to the Esplanade bay area, through MBS to the Helix Bridge and i even threw in a sneak pic into Gardens by the Bay which of course was one of the places i was intending to take him in the weekend. Yes i know. I is awesome tour guide.

Frog Leg Porridge and Beef Horfun at Geylang Lorong 9 after work on Friday.

Clarke Quay for drinks after.

Gardens By The Bay on Saturday morning.

Skydeck at Marina Bay Sands.

Jumbo chilli crab at Dempsey after a slimy stroll in Singapore's Botanical Gardens.

And then we met up with fellow aussie Chris for drinks at one of the rooftop bars in Bras Basah, passing through the National Museum on the way.

Dim Sum breakfast at Yum Cha, Chinatown with Cheryl, Lai Yeow, Ivan and Luke on Sunday morning.

SEA Aquarium at Sentosa, after a super long 1.5 hours queue to get in. Okay lah, i think the jellyfish made it worth the wait.

Palawan Beach at Sentosa for sunset, sort of.

Food Court at Vivocity for more yummy local food.

Then he was off to Hong Kong on his own.

The following weekend back in Singapore, he was tourist no more! Lol.

Killing time at Orchard before midnight movie, Side Effects.

Sushi Tei dinner at I12 with the folks.
